Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Henry Dorsey, Jr., the former Alice Blanchard, 85, will be celebrated on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Salvino Ruben Primor will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Dorsey passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 2:15 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native of Adeline, Mrs. Dorsey was a longtime resident of New Iberia. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mrs. Dorsey enjoyed reading and loved meeting and visiting with others. She was lovingly known as Memaw to her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Alice Dorsey Lanclos of Baton Rouge, Patsy Dorsey Dore and husband, Gloris of Cade, and Betty Dorsey Bergeron of Franklin; grandchildren, Dawn Lanclos Neudahl and husband, William of Gretna, Cynthia Lanclos Toups and husband, Craig of Baton Rouge, Gloris Dore, Jr. of Cade, Victoria Dore Derouen and husband, Jeffrey of New Iberia, and Chris Bradley Bergeron and wife, Reba of Ft. Jessup; great-grandchildren, Morgan Dore of New Iberia, Mackenzie Derouen of New Iberia, Dakota Joe Bergeron of Ft. Jessup, and Cameron James Bergeron of Ft. Jessup; and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding Mrs. Dorsey in death were her husband, Henry Dorsey, Jr.; parents, Joseph and Victoria LeBlanc Blanchard; grandchildren, Greg Michael Dore, Brad Joseph Bergeron, and Christopher Henry Bergeron; and a brother, Dennis Joseph Blanchard. Serving as pallbearers are friends and family members of Mrs. Dorsey. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
