Lafayette " Funeral Service for Richard Horace Chiassion, 24, will be at 1:00PM on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette. Visitation will be held at David Funeral home of Lafayette on Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 9:30AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Joseph II Cemetery of Rayne. Richard a native and resident of Lafayette died on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at his residence. He was an annual attendant of the ROU Ball; loved music, sewing, camping, traveling, and working in the bakery at Wal-Mart baking and decorating cakes. Richard loved and lived life to its fullest and had a great bubbly personality that made everyone enjoy being with him. But his greatest love was his son. He is survived by his partner and mentor, Jimmy D. Montgomery of Lafayette; his mother, Cynthia Navarre Chiasson of Rayne; a son, Dyllon James Smith of Michigan; an aunt, Debbie and Harry Myers of Duson; his god parents, Kenneth and Pam Navarre of Iota; two uncles, Horace Navarre, Jr. of Baton Rouge, and Paul and Susan Navarre of Crowley; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded by his father, Richard J. Chiasson. Pallbearers will be Michael Montgomery, John Chitwood, Christian Derouen, Allen Broussard, Bryan Mouton, and Josh Chaumont. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
