New Iberia ~ Funeral services will be conducted for Meredith Lindsay Street, age 23 at Noon Saturday July 21, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Broussard with Rev. Weldon Moak and Rev. Wallace Millsaps officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Interment services will be for family members only. Visiting hours will be observed Friday July 20, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will resume Saturday July 21, 2007 from 9:00 AM until time of services. Meredith died Tuesday July 17, 2007 at 12:57 PM in a Lafayette Hospital Our beautiful Meredith Lindsay was born in Breaux Bridge, La. on October 24, 1983. Meredith was affectionately known as Mer-Mer. She brought her vivacious and sweet spirit into this world and left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Meredith graduated from Assembly Christian School in New Iberia in 2002 with honors. She was chosen Miss ACS that year as well as Homecoming Queen. She continued her studies and was a year shy of obtaining a Business Degree at Uof L. Meredith was a member of The First Baptist Church of Broussard. With an uncanny ability to laugh and bring others to laughter, Meredith leaves behind a full circle of family and friends. Her love and concern for others was inclusive. Meredith is survived by her son, Zayne Alexander Landry, age 2 who will always hear of his mother's precious sweet nature. Also surviving are her loving father, Todd W. Street of New Iberia, her loving mother and stepfather, Lisa and Harry Hover of Broussard, two sisters, Malerie Street of New Iberia and Grace Hover of Broussard, and one brother, Corey Street of New Iberia, her maternal grandparents, Gayle and Jerry Van Norman of Liberty, MS. and step grandmother Marie Hover of Morgan City, La.. All have dedicated themselves both to her and her son over the years. Other survivors are Aunt Donna and Uncle Dale Murphy and son Chris and Family of Wilmington, Delaware; Uncle Bruce and Aunt Lisa Street and children of New Castle, NH.; Uncle Chuck and Aunt Kelly Van Norman and children of Liberty, MS, Uncle Derek and Aunt Angie Van Norman and children of Kinder, La. and a host of extended family. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Marion Street. Meredith was their first grandchild and they adored her. Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Van Norman, Bruce Street, Dale Murphy, David Weber, Corey T. Street and Ben Hippler. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Billy Van Norman, Wynn Van Norman, Kade Van Norman, Chris Murphy, Eric Olsen, Stephen Olsen, and Dustin Jordan. Memorials in Merediths name may be made to the charity of one's choice. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of funeral arrangements.
