Erath- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Vinton Gary, the former Leona Henry, 63, will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 12:00PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church with Fr. Wayne Duet officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 from 10:00AM until 10:00PM, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM, and will continue on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 8:00AM until time of service. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Mrs. Gary, a native of Kaplan and a resident of Erath, passed away on December 9, 2007 at 10:30AM at her residence. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Kaplan, Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. She is survived by her husband, Vinton Gary Sr. of Erath; her stepson, Vinton Gary, Jr. and his companion Mandy Durke of Erath; her stepdaughter, Tammy Lynn Gary Romero and her husband Harvey of Erath; six grandsons, Justin Romero, Dalon Romero, Brylan Gary, Bryton Gary, Braylon Gary and Braxton Gary all of Erath; her goddaughter, Shae Montagne of Erath; her sister, Rose Peltier of Abbeville; two brothers, Zicky Falgout of Abbeville and Percy Connor of Tacoma, WA; her god-child, Mary Ann Henry of Abbeville; her niece, Nancy Suire of Erath; her special friend, Virginia Norman of Erath; and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry, Jr. and Zavies LaPointe; her stepfather, Julian Miller; her first husband, Hollen Strong Trahan; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martial LaPointe. Pallbearers will be Vinton Gary, Jr., Brylan Gary, Justin Romero, Christopher Breaux, Scotty Arcenaux and David Sonnier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Henry, Bryton Gary and Harvey Romero. David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling arrangements.
