LOVING FATHER, GRANDFATHER, AND BROTHER

New Iberia"Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Lee Tyler, 70, will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel.The Reverend Ed Degeyter will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M., and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in David Funeral Home.

Mr. Tyler passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 4:20 P.M. in his New Iberia residence.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Tyler was a retired oilfield worker. In his younger days, he enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and photography, even building a darkroom and developing his own photos. He enjoyed the outdoors, having spent time camping and shooting his guns, and he dreamed of one day owning a sailboat. An avid fisherman, Mr. Tyler made an annual trip to Lake Fork, TX in search of that elusive lunker bass. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with and caring for his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, David Lee Tyler and wife, Kayla of New Iberia, Joe Don Tyler of New Iberia, and Anthony Ray Tony Tyler of New Iberia; daughter, Tara Ann Tyler of New Iberia; brothers, Larry King and wife, Nona of Humble, TX and Ray Tyler of Franklin; sister, Joanne Tyler Bonin of New Iberia; grandchildren, Kali Ann Sigue, Keyonnie Rachel Tyler, Tory Lee Tyler, Ashlen Michele Tyler, Tucker Anthony Tyler, Cody William Tyler, and Landon Michael Tyler, all of New Iberia; and companion and dear friend, Violet Lancon of New Iberia.

Preceding Mr. Tyler in death were his parents, Peter Joseph Tyler, Jr. and Lydia Prince Tyler; daughter, Nancy Tyler; brother, Lynn Anthony Tyler; granddaughter, Jenna Theresa Joubert; and former wives, Monita Champagne Tyler and Stella Hebert Tyler.

Serving as pallbearers are David Lee Tyler, Joe Don Tyler, Anthony Ray Tyler, Alvin Bonin, Jr., Larry King, and Kirk Pellerin. David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, 369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
