Loving husband, father and grandfather JEANERETTE " Services for Mr. Roland J. Stansbury, Sr., 68, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 8:00 AM until the time of service. A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Stansbury died at 9:38 AM Monday, April 21, 2008, at Iberia Medical Center. Mr. Stansbury was the first City Marshal of Jeanerette. He was a board member of Teche Electric for several years, and a past member of Jeanerette Jaycees and the National Guard 156 Infantry. He is survived by his wife, Mona Hebert Stansbury of Jeanerette; four sons, Keith Stansbury and companion Sheila of Jeanerette, Kevin Stansbury and wife Emme of Baton Rouge, Roland J. Stansbury, Jr. and wife Annette of Jeanerette, and Kirk Stansbury and wife Audrey of Baton Rouge; and grandchildren, Kevin Mark Stansbury, Jr., Matthew Stansbury, Alex Stansbury, Claire Stansbury, Paige Stansbury, Ashley Stansbury and Austin Stansbury. Mr. Stansbury was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Agatha Boudreaux Stansbury; brothers, Marcel Slim and Leonard Stansbury; and sisters, Sedonia LeBlanc, Celina LeBlanc and Laura Pepper. Pallbearers will be Keith Stansbury, Kevin Stansbury, Roland Stansbury, Jr., Kirk Stansbury, Kevin Mark Stansbury, Jr., and Matthew Stansbury.
