Coteau " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. J.B. Maturin, Age 76, at 11:00AM Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday February 12, 2008 from 10:00AM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 8:00AM until service time. He died Saturday February 9, 2008 at 8:20PM at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur.Military graveside services will be conducted by the VFW post 1982.

A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish Mr. J.B. worked for Arthur A. Castille and Delhomme Industries for many years. He was a board member for the Coteau Water System and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5111. He enjoyed rooster fighting. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife; Laura Broussard Maturin, two sons; Warren Maturin and wife Sharleen and Carl Maturin all of Coteau. Grandchildren; Ashley M. Trahan and husband Chris, C.J. Maturin, Nicholas Maturin and Mackenzie Maturin all of Coteau. He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Rosie Broussard Maturin and a son, Darren Maturin.

Pallbearers will be Chris Trahan, Kent Viator, Kerry Robertson, Chandley Maturin, Richard Slick Baker and Dwayne Decoux. Honorary pallbearers will be C.J. Maturin, Lynn Abshire, Larry Melancon, Kevin Broussard, Buddy Deville, Will Gary, Clarence Broussard and all his fellow rooster fighters.
