New Iberia"A Memorial Mass celebrating the life of Martin Edgar Marty Postlethwait, 67, will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in St. Peter Catholic Church. The Reverend Charles Langlois will serve as celebrant. Mr. Postlethwait passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 8:39 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native of New Martinsville, WV, and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Postlethwait had worked as a machinist for Gator Valve Company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Mr. Postlethwait enjoyed his job and woodworking. He was a devoted husband to his wife of over forty years. Survivors include his wife, Antonia Toni Marie Mestayer Postlethwait of New Iberia; sister, Berneda Ryan of Wellsburg, WV; sister-in-law, Mercedee Landry and husband Shirley; brother-in-law, Clarence A. Mestayer, Jr. "Cam" and wife Norva; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding Mr. Postlethwait in death were his parents, Martin C. and Leona Hartley Postlethwait; sister, Thelma Postlethwait; brothers, Ransell, Harold, and Arthur Postlethwait; father-in-law, Clarence A. Mestayer, Sr.; mother-in-law, Louise Gonsoulin Mestayer; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Mestayer Broussard. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, 337-369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
