Abbeville - Funeral Services for Autumn "Tutti" Claire Simon, 2, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 29, 2008 at The David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Bro. Elfedge Hollier officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville beginning on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 11:00AM until the time of the services on Friday with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM on Thursday night. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. Autumn Claire Simon entered Jehovahs Book of life on February 24th 2008, following a lifelong illness. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whom Autumn had touched throughout her short, yet very memorable life. Autumns life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she spoke few words, her voice and thoughts could always be heard. Although Autumns illness made her appear frail, she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She could spend hours rocking in her favorite chair while cuddling close to Mr. Spider (Doll) and shaking her rattles. She enjoyed her music, sleeping late, and reading Bible stories. She loved the color pink and listening to the sounds of children especially laughter, which would make her smile. She spent the summertime at the park with her family, where she loved to swing and slide down the fast slide. With Autumns passing we remind others that her life is one to be treasured. We will miss her everyday, especially her bright blue eyes and beaming smile. She will forever remain in our hearts. Through her teachings about life we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be her parents. Autumn leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support to enhance her quality of life. Autumns love extends to her wonderful nurses, Beverly Rozas (Hospice), Lori Singletary (Home Health), Elizabeth Gilger (St. Judes), and Tracy Tidwell (LeBonheur Childrens Hospital). There is a special place in our hearts for Autumns dear friends Dr. Maryam Fouladi (St. Judes), Dr. Robert Alex Sanford (LeBonheur Children Hospital) because of their continual dedication, love and support, Autumn was able to survive some of her toughest medical challenges. Autumn is survived by her loving parents, Casey and Sara Simon of Scott, LA, pet cat Bob, maternal grandparents Paul and Angela Viator of Delcambre, LA, great-grandfather EJ Segura of Delcambre, LA; paternal grandparents Carol Simon of Lafayette, LA and Willard Bourgeois of St. Martinville, LA, Great grandmothers Gloria Viator of Abbeville, LA; Joyce Simon of Lafayette LA; Mildred Bourgeois of Delcambre, LA. She was predeceased by her maternal great-grandparents Lloyd Viator and Gloria Segura and by her paternal great-grandfathers Paul Simon, and Willard Bourgeois. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Simon, Paul Viator, Willard Bourgeois, III, and Joanthan Hollier. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Judes Childrens Hospital 332 N.
