Loreauville"A Mass of Christian Burial for Levie W. Levi Ronsonet, 81, will be celebrated on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend Buddy Breaux will serve as celebrant. Danielle Ronsonet, Rory Ronsonet, and Brynn Arnaud will serve as gift bearers. Entombment with graveside military honors rendered by V.F.W. Post 1982 will follow in the Ronsonet Family Tomb at All Saints Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Ronsonet passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 9:45 A.M. in his Loreauville residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mr. Ronsonet was owner and operator of Channel Specialty Company and Blue Sky Oilfield Supply. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served with a blimp squadron.
Mr. Ronsonet was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. His Christian faith and principles were evident in his daily life, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need.
An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Ronsonets favorite activities were going to his camps in Natchez, MS and at Lake Dauterive to hunt, fish, or to just enjoy being in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed watching old cowboy movies and listening to music, and was an excellent dancer. Mr. Ronsonet rarely ended a day without sitting outside watching the birds fly by. He loved his family and his friends, and he was a true joy to be around.
Those remaining to remember Mr. Ronsonet are his sons, Thomas Ronsonet and wife, Annette of Loreauville, Brad Ronsonet and wife, Kay of Loreauville, and Timothy Ronsonet and wife, Claudine of Loreauville; daughter, Vicki R. Dugas and husband, Keith of Loreauville; companion, Hazel Louviere of Loreauville; grandchildren, Kirby Ronsonet of Loreauville, Willie Ronsonet of Loreauville, Brynn Arnaud of Loreauville, Dustin Ronsonet of Loreauville, Danielle Ronsonet of Loreauville, Zi Thomas of Lafayette, Sherri Sorrel of New Iberia, Obrey Ronsonet of Loreauville, Rory Ronsonet of Loreauville, Gabrie Dugas of Lafayette, and Kalun James Dugas of Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Emma Arnaud of Loreauville and Gabrielle Sorrel of New Iberia; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mr. Ronsonet in death were his wife, Gladys Lasseigne Ronsonet; parents, Willie and Clara Vaughn Ronsonet; son, Dickie Paul Ronsonet; grandson, Dillon Paul Ronsonet; sister, Maywood Borel; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Morgan Thomas.
Serving as pallbearers are Kirby Ronsonet, Willie Ronsonet, Dustin Ronsonet, Gabrie Dugas, Kalun James Dugas, and Obrey Ronsonet. Named as honorary pallbearers are Ronald Judice, Angus Yang Mestayer, Kyle Kylo Mestayer, Chester Butch Gonsoulin, Joe Cyrie, Leslie Yo Bergeron, William Coshon Bonin, and Gerald Ping Crochet. Also named as honorary pallbearers are the employees of Channel Specialty, Blue Sky Oil Field Supply, Channel Pipe and Steel, and St. Josephs Craftsmen.
The family of Mr. Ronsonet wishes to express their gratitude to his special caregivers, Yvonne Big Mama Bonin and Hazel Louviere.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
