Loving Mother & Grandmother

Rynella, LA --- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated to honor the life of Mrs. Creighton J. Broussard, 94, the former Naomi Mim Foreman, at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 15, 2008 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church. Fr. Donovan Labbe will serve as celebrant and Deacon Theo Landry will serve as Deacon of the Mass. Entombment will follow in St. Marcellus Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM in David Funeral Home of New Iberia, with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until service time in the funeral home

Mrs. Broussard died on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 1:30 PM at her granddaughters residence, surrounded by those that loved her.

She was born to the late Nathan and Elia Segura Foreman on Oct. 21, 1913, and lived most of her life on Avery Island. Naomi, lovingly known as Mim , worked for many years at the McIlhenny Tabasco plant on Avery Island. She and her husband, Creighton, developed Creighton Heights Addition near New Iberia.

Mim had a great love of family and family values, and was devout in her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Altar Society. She had a passion for traveling around the United States, and through the years, she was involved in many ministries with the Church. In the late 1990s and early 2000s she lived with her daughter, Janelle, in Port Arthur, TX, where she enjoyed her extended family and participating in activities in the area.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Provost of New Iberia; granddaughter Kim Daniell and husband, David of New Iberia, and 14 other grandchildren; sister, Mavalina Hebert of Port Arthur, TX; brothers Edison and Nathan Foreman, Jr. both of Baton Rouge; 27 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members in Louisiana and in the Port Arthur, TX area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Creighton Broussard, Sr.; sons, Charles Broussard and Creighton J. Broussard, Jr.; daughter, Janelle Dore; brothers, John, Dalton, and Howard Foreman; sisters, Noelie Solar; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Daniell, Carlos Provost, E.J. Ardoin, David Merwin, Randy Provost, Blayze Romero.

The family would like to give a special thanks to June Jones, Acadian Home Health and Hospice, Robert Hankenhof, III, MD and his staff.

A truly special grandmother, she is finally free to soar with the angels.
