Jeanerette " A Memorial Mass will be conducted for Mr. Walter P. Ticky Buteau, 80, on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Inurment will be held at a later date at Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery. A native of New Olreans and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Buteau died on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 8:58 AM at his residence. He retired with Texas Crude Oil as a Guager. He was an avid outdoorsman. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army and received the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He is survived by his wife, Betty Petitfils Buteau of Jeanerette; his son, Steve Buteau and his wife Liz of Jeanerette; his daughter, Arlene Hebert and her husband Lyon of Lafayette; his son, Eric Buteau and his wife Susan of New Iberia; his son, Karl Buteau and his wife Cyd of Jeanerette; his daughter, Ellen Marin and her husband Randy of Cade; his daughter, Fay Buteau of Broussard; his daughter, Suzanne Sandoz and her husband Greg of New Iberia; his son, Craig Buteau and his wife Phyllis of Lafayette; his son Mark Buteau and his wife Debby of Lafayette; his brother, Arthur Tut Buteau and his wife Nickie of New Iberia and his sister, Joyce Verret and her husband Gerald of Websterville. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter F. Buteau and Lucille Dupois Buteau and his sister, Joyce Buteau. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St. (337) 276-5151 is in charge of arrangements.
