Lafayette " Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth Jake G. Jacob, 76, will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Beau Pre Memorial Park with the Franklin Masonic Lodge Officiating. Visitation will be at Beau Pre Memorial Park on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 9:30AM until the time of services. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum. A native of Glencoe,long-term resident of Franklin, and most recently of Youngsville, Mr. Jacob died August 15, 2009 at his residence. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who loved spending time with his family. Jake was a Vocational Agriculture teacher with the St. Mary Parish School Board and taught for nearly thirty years at Centerville High School, held a Masters Degree in Education, was a member of the Masonic Lodge of both Jeanerette and Franklin, was the past master of the Jeanerette Masonic Lodge for two terms, was a member of VFW Franklin Post, American Legion Franklin Post, Farm Bureau Member, and a retired Voc. Ag. Teacher. He is survived by his wife, Betty Tyler Jacob of Youngsville, formerly of Franklin; one son, Keith Jacob and his wife Lorraine of Houston; one daughter, Katherine Apperson and her husband William of Richardson, Texas; two sisters, Jewel Martens and her husband Norman of Okawville, Illinois, and Joy Kent and her husband Hardie of Jeanerette; and two grandchildren, Steven and David Jacob of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, August B. Jacob and Bessie Glaubrecht Jacob; two brothers, Gordon Jacob and Merrill Jacob; and one sister, Carol Jacob.
