LOVING BROTHER AND UNCLE New Iberia"Funeral services for Richard Wayne "The Boss" Schexnayder, 54, will be conducted on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Charles Langlois will officiate. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. until service time in David Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 2:00 P.M. Mr. Schexnayder passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 6:35 A.M. in a New Iberia care facility. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Schexnayder was a cheerful person who never met a stranger. He held several positions at Consolata Nursing Home, and enjoyed listening to music, fishing, and eating gumbo and ice cream. Survivors include his sisters, Carole Viviano and husband, J.B. of Opelousas, Madeline Bernard and husband, Byron, and Elizabeth Delahoussaye and husband, Irby of Marrero; brothers, Arthur L. Schexnayder, Jr. and wife, Norma of New Iberia, James R. Schexnayder of Lafayette, Norman E. Schexnayder and wife, Shirley of Bradenton, FL, and Gene A. Schexnayder and wife, Rosalie of New Iberia; several nieces and nephews; and special cousins, Lillie Renoudet and Jan Musso of New Iberia. Preceding him in death were his parents, Arthur Lewis Schexnayder, Sr. and Florence Fischer Schexnayder. Serving as pallbearers are Gene Schexnayder, James Schexnayder, James Schexnayder, Jr., Douglas Schexnayder, Norman Schexnayder, and Allen Gonsuron. Named as honorary pallbearer is Arthur L. Schexnayder, Jr. The family requests that memorial donations be made to United Cerebral Palsy Association, 1805 College Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
