Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Eli J. Derouen, 67, Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 4:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM until services.

A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Derouen died on Thursday, July 20, 2007 at 9:20 AM in a Jeanerette nursing home. Mr. Derouen worked in the oil field industry and served in the Louisiana National Guard during the Viet Nam Era.

He is survived by his mother, Mary LeBlanc Derouen of Jeanerrette; his daughter, Rebecca Derouen Guilbeau of New Iberia; his sons, Jacque Derouen of Jeanerette and Jordan Derouen of Catahoula; his brother, Alcee John Derouen of Jeanerette; his sister, Marian Derouen Dartez of New Iberia; his grandsons, Josh Guilbeau, Nathan Guilbeau, Seth Guilbeau all of New Iberia, Cameron Derouen of Catahoula, Wayne Latiolais and Brandon Latiolais both of Jeanerette; his granddaughters, Meleah Guilbeau of New Iberia and Destiny Sonnier of Catahoula.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Francis Derouen; his father, Jacque Derouen and his brother, Ronald Derouen.

Pallbearers will be Jacque Derouen, Jordan Derouen, Josh Guilbeau and Seth Guilbeau.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to defray funeral expenses.

David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
