Harland E. Westney

March 30, 1941 — December 12, 2008

New Iberia " Memorial graveside services celebrating the life of Harland Ervin Westney Age 67, will be held at a later date in the Springfield Memorial Cemetery in Springfield, Vermont. Mr. Westney passed away Friday December 12, 2008 at 3:00 PM in a New IberiaHospital. Mr. Westney retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of services as a chef retiring in 1980. He served during the Cuban Crisis and the Vietnam War. Following his retirement he was employed with Mallard Drilling as of offshore cook. He enjoyed camping, boxing and the Bluegrass Festival. Mr. Westney is survived by his wife Maria Cruz Westney of New Iberia: 3 Brothers: Charles William Westney and his wife Jo Anne of Alpharetta, Georgia, Arthur Frank Westney and his wife Shirley of South Pasadena, Florida and Ronald Howard Westney and his wife Katherine of Springfield, Vermont. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard Westney and Esther Blake Westney.
