Mildred Myers Moncla

November 26, 1917 — December 16, 2007

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mildred Myers Moncla, Age 90, at 11:30 AM Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Jimmy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will begin Monday, December 17, 2007, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume Tuesday, December 18, 2007, from 8:00 AM until time of service. She died Sunday, December 16, 2007, at 9:20 AM in a Lafayette hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Ms. Mildred was an accountant for the Castaing and Hussey CPA firm. She enjoyed gardening, walking with friends, the theatre and cooking. Survivors include one daughter, Millie M. Young and husband Richard of Denver, Colorado; one son, Tom M. Moncla and wife Linda of Lafayette; one sister, Gladys M. Badeaux; one brother, Ned Myers both of New Iberia and a daughter-in-law, Girdie Moncla of New Iberia. She was also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth M. Moncla; her parents, Eloi and Celeste Romero Myers; her grandson, Scott David Moncla; two brothers, Lloyd and Warren Myers and a sister, Marjorie Myers Brock. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be Ned Myers. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, (337) 369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
