Catahoula " Funeral Services for John Hargrave, Sr., 62, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Church in Portage with Rev. Mike Robicheaux officiating. Visitation will be held at Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Church on Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 9:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Cemetery. Mr. Hargrave a native of Gueydan and a resident of Catahoula died at 12:18PM on Sunday, December 23, 2007 in Breaux Bridge. He was well known for selling fruits and vegetables out of his truck and on the roadside. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Theriot Hargrave of Catahoula; two brothers, Ben Bourque of Abbeville and Ray Morvant of Lavonia; two sisters, Ethel Bourque of Abbeville and Meme Trahan of Kaplan; four step-sons, Ronald Melancon, Russell Melancon, and Joseph Melancon all of Catahuola, and Allen Melancon of Portage; two step-daughters, Alin Berthalot of Catahoula and Dean Noel of Breaux Bridge, fifty-four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters. He was preceded by his parents, Dewey and Edith LeLeux Hargrave, a step-son, Stafford Melancon, Jr.; and a step-daughter, Irene Melancon. Pallbearers will be family and friends David Funeral Home of Loreauville at 118 Main St (337) 229-8338 will be handling the arrangements.
