Pecan Island " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. John C. Veazey, the former Joyce Marie Ardeneaux Hardin, 59, on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007 at 12:00 PM (Noon) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Randy Moreaux officiating. Interment will follow in the Pecan Island Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007 at 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM and a rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 AM.

A native of Abbeville and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Veazey died on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 at 11:15 AM in a New Iberia nursing facility. She was a homemaker, dispatcher and personnel carrier for personnel transportation. She enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, John C. Veazey of New Iberia; her parents, John and Wilda Toups Ardeneaux of Abbeville; her sons, Anthony Wayne Hardin of Kaplan, Timothy Hardin and his wife June of Huntsville, AL and Heith Tyson Veazey and his wife Gilda of St. Martinville; her brother, Paul Ardeneaux of Abbeville; her sister, Juanita Ardeneaux Hardin and her husband Carl of Abbeville; her grandchildren, Jarad Cormier, Sr. of Huntsville, AL, Loggen Dugas and Krystellynn Dugas both of New Iberia; and her great grandchildren, Jarod Lee Cormier, Jr., Alexis Nicole Cormier both of Huntsville, AL and Kylan K. Taylor of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Doyle Kim Veazey and her grandchild, Megan Dubois.

Pallbearers will be Heith Tyson Veazey, Timothy Hardin, Anthony Wayne Hardin, James Troy, Keith Comeaux and Paul Ardeneaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Loggen Dugas, Josh Judice, Chad Mayfield and Brent Legnon.
