William Barris Ishee

November 2, 1920 — December 25, 2007

New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for William Uncle Bill Barris Ishee, age 87, at 1:00PM Friday December 28, 2007 at Holy Family Mausoleum Chapel with Deacon Wade Broussard officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. He died Tuesday December 25, 2007 at 2:29PM in a local hospital. A native of Bay Springs,Jasper County, Mississippi, Uncle Bill had been a resident of New Iberia many years. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Merchant Marines. In 1949 he moved from New Orleans to New Iberia to do accounting for the contracting group headed by his brother-in-law, James P. Cross, Sr. He continued in that capacity with Javelar Construction Company until retirement. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews by marriage, a few old shipmates and a few former co-workers who have also remembered him as Uncle Bill . He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Mary Evelyn Aunt Mary Cross Ishee and by his parents; William Henry Ishee and Elna Gaynelle Rogers Ishee. Pallbearers will be family.
