Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Francis Ray Butch Hebert, 53, will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 1:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Gearhart officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM and will resume on Friday, December 28, 2007 from 9:00AM until 10:00PM, with a recitation of the rosary at 6:30PM, and will resume on Saturday, December 29, 2007 from 9:00AM until time of service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mr. Hebert, a native and resident of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 5:50PM at his residence. He was an LHSAA referee, an NCAA umpire, a sports lover, a diehard LSU fan, and well known in the community for his sports involvement. He also enjoyed deer hunting, playing golf, and dedicated his life to his family. The family would like to thank Dr. Kemp Coriel with Hospice of Louisiana and MD Anderson Hospital for all of their love and support.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Prejean Hebert of Lafayette; his mother, Edith Carmier Hebert of Lafayette; two daughters, Crystal Marie Hebert Grayson and her husband Matthew of Broussard and Danielle Lynn Hebert of Lafayette; a granddaughter, Bailey McKenzie Grayson of Broussard; sister, Caroline "Tina" Ancelet; brother, Gerald Ancelet and one other sister.

He is preceded in death by his father, Francis A. Hebert.

Pallbearers will be James Martarona, James Clary, Merlan Trahan, Donald Halpin, Kenneth Pic Picard and James Chip Miller.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette will be handling arrangements.
