Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Father-In-Law Delcambre " Funeral services will be conducted for Renes Joseph Beb Toups, 85, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Herb Bennerfield officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Vermilion Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 PM. A native of Henry and a resident of Erath, Mr. Toups died on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 7:03 AM at the Heart Health Hospital in Lafayette. Mr. Toups retired as a Boiler Operator from Diamond Crystal Salt Mine on Jefferson Island. A Veteran of World War II, Mr. Toups served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 279 in Erath and the V.F.W. Post 4158 of Abbeville where he also served in the Military Honor Guard. Mr. Toups raised cattle, loved gardening and talking to people. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Belle Lopez Toups of Erath; his sons, Wayne Toups and his wife Jackie of Delcambre and Tommy Toups and his wife Frances of Erath; his grandsons, Barret Toups and his wife Cara of Duson, Eric Toups and his wife Mary of Youngsville and Ryan Toups and his girlfiend Andrea Broussard of Erath; his great granddaughters, Emma Grace Toups and Hanna Toups both of Duson and his brother, Jay Toups of Delcambre. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cestia Toups and Elodie Boudreaux Toups; his brother, Dennis Toups and his sisters, Esther Duhon, Edma David, Rita Dubois Inez Landry and Telcie Lopez. Pallbearers will be Wayne, Tommy, Barret, Eric and Ryan Toups and Carroll Lopez. Honorary pallbearer will be his godchild, Clint Hebert. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Heart Health Hospital in Lafayette. David Funeral Home of Erath, 209 E.
