Funeral services for Mrs. Donald R. Maturin, the former Marie Colson, 50, will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Interment will follow Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Cemetery in Coteau.

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM in David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Maturin died at 6:41 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at her residence.

Mrs. Maturin enjoy dancing and listening to country music, barbequing, crawfish boils and pizza. Her greatest joy, however, was caring for her family and spoiling her granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, Donald R. Maturin of New Iberia; daughter, Annette Maturin Hill and husband, Scott of Broussard; son, Adam Maturin of New Iberia; granddaughter, Kiley Michelle Hill of Broussard; sisters, Theresa Gros and husband, Huey of New Iberia, Shirley Sender and husband, Bill of Youngsville, and Verna Colson of New Iberia; brothers, Leroy Colson, James Colson and wife, Myra, Paul Colson and wife, Rhonda, David Colson and companion, Leila Suire, and Jesse Colson, all of New Iberia; and mother-in-law, Pauline Fabre Maturin of New Iberia.

Mrs. Maturin was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon James Colson and Edise Romero Colson; and brother, Vernon James Colson.

Pallbearers will be members of Mrs. Maturins family.
