Abbeville " Funeral Services for Hubert T Boy Mire Sr., 72, will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 10:00AM at The David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville. Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 11:00AM to 10:00PM with a rosary at 7:00PM and will resume on Friday from 8:00AM until services. Internment will be at Bancker Cemetery in Henry, LA.

A native and resident of Abbeville, Mr. Mire was called to rest after his lengthy struggle with cancer on March 26, 2008 at 9:15AM in Maurice. Mr. Mire loved fishing, golfing and gardening. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and his family dog Suzzie.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Marie Angelle Mire of Bancker,LA; brother, Henry Simon and his wife Jenell of Lafayette; sister, Vernice Gayneaux; sons, Hubert Mire Jr. of Erath and Alfred Mire of Port Allen; daughters, Robin Watson of Maurice, Shelia LeMarie and her husband Allen of Maurice, and Margaret Domingue of Scott; granddaughters, Misty, Holley, Shanna and Toshia; grandsons, Armaund and his wife Shawna, Alfred Mire II, Larry Joe, Zack and Lionel and great granddaughters, Kristy, Kayla, Paige and Brailyn.

Mr. Mire is preceded in death by his son, Brian Keith; mother, Marguerite Richard; father, Edeuse Mire; brothers Alfred J. Jackson, Geneuse Mire and Lionex Mire; sisters, Inez Gayneaux, Lena Faulk; and son-in-law John Watson Sr.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alfred, Hubert, Allen, Armaund, Larry Joe and Alfred II.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Faciane, Zack Mire, Lionel Langley, Henry Faciane and Herman Simon.

The family would like to thank Dr. Charbonnet and staff, Roxy, Tracey, Angel, Angelle, and Courtney of New Iberia; Home Health Care of Abbeville; Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care and staff, Suzanne, Simone and Felicia; and Miles Perret of Cancer Services.

David Funeral Home of Abbeville will be handling arrangements.
