LOREAUVILLE " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Wallace J. Landry, the former Leona Ni Nit Judice, 96, will be conducted at 10:30 AM Monday, May 12, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Visiting hours will be observed Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Monday, May 12, 2008 from 8:00 AM until the time of service.

A native and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Landry died at 4:30 AM Friday, May 9, 2008, in a New Iberia hospital.

Ni Nit enjoyed baking, cooking, spoiling her grandchildren, sewing and quilting. She was famous for her homemade bread, fudge and coconut cakes.

She is survived by her daughter, Velma L. Thibodeaux of St. Martinville; son, Melvin J. Landry, Sr. and wife Virginia of Loreauville; four sisters, Inez J. Cormier of Lafayette, Euline J. Lancon of Loreauville, Evelyn J. Lancon and husband Taylor of Jeanerette, and Eloise J. Verret of Broussard; brother, Andrew Judice and wife Joyce of Port Arthur, Texas; grandchildren, Donny J. Thibodeaux, Rhealeen T. Berard, Tracy T. Hebert, Melvin J. Landry, Jr., Hubert P. Landry, Belinda L. Phillips and Kathleen L. Williams; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Landry was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace J. Landry; parents, Dumas and Anaise Dugas Judice; great-grandson, Dillion P. Ronsonet; son-in-law, Donald J. Thibodeaux; brothers, Alfred Been and Louis Nago Judice; and sisters, Rita J. Babineaux and Yolande J. Pitre.

Pallbearers will be Melvin J. Landry, Jr., Hubert P. Landry, Donny J. Thibodeaux, Wallace J. Landry, II, Dustin E. Ronsonet and Brooks J. Hebert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hubert P. Landry, Jr. and Spencer J. Williams.
