Lafayette " A Memorial Service will be held for Mr. Joseph Lala JoJo Matassa, age 50, at David Funeral Home Chapel in Lafayette, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 7:00PM. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 6:30 until service time.
A native of New Orleans and a resident of Lafayette, Mr. Matassa passed away on October 24, 2008 at his residence in Lafayette. Mr. Matassa was an avid lover of race horses, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was most happy when he could cook for everyone. His other joy was his pet dog Klux. He will be greatly missed by everyone who was touched by his friendship.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Farmer Matassa of Lafayette; three daughters, Kyla Romero and her husband Bubba of Broussard, Kelly Fremin and her husband Kaine of Broussard and Kassy Fremin and her husband Colby of Youngsville; five grandchildren, Londyn, Landon, Oliviah, Paxton and Koah; brother, Vincent A. Matassa and his wife Toni of New Orleans; godchild, Victoria Ann Matassa of New Orleans and nephew, Vincent A. Matassa, Jr. of New Orleans.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Anthony Matassa and Cecilia Lala Matassa.
Honorary pallbearers will be John J. Matassa, Phil Mazzella, Kirk Romero, Dwight Farmer, Joey Farmer and Freddie Stoulig.
David Funeral Home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Highway, Lafayette, La. (337) 837-9887 is handling the arrangements.
