New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Paul Adam Dore, Sr., Age 83, at 2:00PM Monday March 10, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Ruben Premor officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of The Lake Mausoleum in Delcambre. Visitation will be Sunday March 9, 2008 from 2:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00AM until service time. He died Friday March 7, 2008 at 2:05PM in an Abbeville health care facility.
A native of Coteau Mr. Paul retired as Asst. Chief from the New Iberia Fire Dept. after 25 years of service. He was an agent for Fireside Commercial Insurance Co. and also sold Standard Coffee for many years. He was a lay minister at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mr. Paul was an avid gardener and he enjoyed camping and trolling. He was a regular visitor a New Iberia Hardware where he had his morning cup of coffee.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Maison DuMonde Nursing Home and Dr. Stephen Salopek and his nurses. Also special thanks to AAA Hospice.
Survivors include three daughters; Sandra Hebert and her husband Anthony of Erath, Jackie Dore of Broussard, and Paulette Graciana and her husband Chris of Delcambre, one son; Buddy Dore and his wife Tessie of New Iberia, grandchildren; Christine H. Bourg and Todd Hebert both of Erath, Drew Callaway of Charlotte, N.C., Laura Dillashaw of Broussard, Christopher Elmer of Maurice, Matthew Elmer of New Iberia, Dawn Slayton of Fort Polk and Drake Dore of New Iberia, Nine great-grandchildren and his wife Georgie R. Dore of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Anne Irene Landry Dore, parents; Adam and Eve Huval Dore, one brother; Delmar Dore and four sisters; Annie Mae Leleux, Esther Dore, Ella Waguespack and Nola Dore.
Pallbearers will be Todd Hebert, Christopher Elmer, Matthew Elmer, Drew Callaway, Nicky Bourg and Ronald Slayton. Honorary pallbearers will be Drake Dore, David Bourgeois, Perry Leleux, Joey Wadsworth and Francis Poirrier.
