NEW IBERIA - Services for Mr. Michael Pappy Raymond Piro, 77, will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 15, 2008 at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Crochet officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette with military graveside services.

Visiting hours will be observed Friday, March 14, 2008 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 8:00 AM until the time of service.

A native of Denver, Colorado, and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Piro died at 9:45 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Piro, lovingly known as Pappy to many, was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and Korean Conflict. His favorite past time was drinking coffee at Shanes in Coteau with his coffee gang. Michael loved to watch television especially sports. Michael was a member of VFW Post 1982 and the Seabees.

He is survived by his children, Michael Troy Piro and partner Tim Holland of Baltimore, Maryland, Donna P. LeBlanc and husband Randy P. of Erath, Kevin P. Piro and wife Trisha of Coteau, and Christine P. Tepe and husband David of Sierra Vista, Arizona; grandchildren, Nikki A. Piro, Amber L. Romero, Josh M. Piro and Bobbi L. Tepe; step-grandchildren, Eric M. and Megan M. LeBlanc; mother, Rama McDermott of New Iberia; companion, Mary Ann Derouen of Coteau; and brother-in-law, Ferdie Boudreaux of Coteau.

Mr. Piro was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Dale Boudreaux Piro; father, Nicholas Piro; sister-in-law, Betty Ann Boudreaux; and brother-in-law, Pat Boudreaux.

Pallbearers will be Roland Romero, Ferdie Boudreaux, Josh Piro, Steven Ingrahm, Brent Derouen and Chris LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearer will be Michael LeBlanc.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street (337) 369-6336, is in charge of the arrangements.
