JEANERETTE ~ Funeral Services for Mercedes Theresa Hebert, 79, will be conducted at 11:30 AM Monday, August 25, 2008 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 25, 2008 from 9:00 AM until the time of service with a rosary being recited 10:00AM at David Funeral Home. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, She died at 9:20 PM Thursday, August 21, 2008, in a New Iberia nursing home. Mercedes was a waitress for many years before working at Jeanerette Mills from their opening day until her retirement. She was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading. She is survived by her son, Jesse Hebert and wife Anna; grandson, Harley Anthony Hebert and wife Tasha, all of Jeanerette; and sister, Hazel Ladouceur of Loreauville. Miss Hebert was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Leona Thibodeaux Hebert; and brother, Ulysse Pine Hebert. Pallbearers will be Robert Sanders, Mitch Dubois, Sandy Derise, Kirk Pellerin, Lionel Lancon and Paul Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearer will be her grandson, Harley Hebert. In lieu of flowers donations, may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost Street (337) 276-5151, is in charge of the arrangements.
