New Iberia"Funeral services for Chad James Be Monot, 32, will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Paul Neel will officiate. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will begin on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 5:00 P.M., and will continue all night and on Tuesday until service time in David Funeral Home.

Mr. Monot passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008 in a Lafayette hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of the New Iberia area, Mr. Monot worked for several years as a roustabout in the oilfield. He attended First Assembly of God Church in New Iberia. Fondly known as Be , he enjoyed dirt bike riding, riding jet skis, and caring for his dogs. He loved and was loved by his brothers and all of his family.

Survivors include his father, Kenneth Monot, Sr. and wife, Gwen of New Iberia; mother, Joylynn Bonin Alleman and husband, Billy of New Iberia; brothers, Shane Monot and wife, Michelle of New Iberia, Kenneth Monot, Jr. of New Iberia, and Lance Monot of New Iberia; sister, Janet Lynn Shockley and husband, Mike of New Iberia; fianc, Amber Faith LeJeune and son, Landon James LeJeune of Erath; nieces, Lani Monot of New Iberia, Harley Dupuis of New Iberia; niece/Godchild, Angel Monot of Erath; nephews, Logan Lane Monot of New Iberia and Dustin Dupuis of New Iberia; uncle, Troy Bonin and wife, Diane of Oakdale; aunt/Godmother, Karen Curtain and husband, Michael of New Iberia; stepbrother, Jurrel Alleman of New Iberia, step-sisters, Jade and Jenna Alleman of New Iberia; step-grandmother, Theresa Alleman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his brother, Marcus Ray Monot; maternal grandmother, Winnie Felps; paternal grandparents, Ossee and Adele Matherne Monot; uncle, Tommy Lee Cherry; step-grandfather, Cleus Alleman; and step-grandparents, Leo and Melba Manicl.

Serving as pallbearers are Billy Alleman, Shane Monot, Kenneth Monot, Jr., Lance Monot, Brad Brunskill, and Paul Porrier.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, 369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
