New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Preston J. Viator, the former Marie Louella LeBlanc, 68, will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Mark Derise will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 9:00 A.M. and will continue all night and until service time on Wednesday in David Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 6:30 P.M. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Viator passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. in her New Iberia residence due to complications of lung and heart disease.

A native of Mire and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Viator was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, fishing, crabbing, and camping, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was lovingly known as "Lou" to all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Keith J. Slim Viator of New Iberia, Billy Ray Viator, Sr. and wife, Pamela of St. Martinville, Dwayne A. Viator and wife, Ronda of New Iberia, Jessie P. Viator and wife, Krystal of New Iberia, and Edward J. Viator and fianc, Lana Delahoussaye of New Iberia; daughter, Monique V. Romero and husband, Casey of New Iberia; sister, Rose L. Forister and husband, Jun of Duson; brother, Patrick LeBlanc and wife, Patsy of Scott; grandchildren, Keith Dustin Viator, Tiffani M. Viator, Ashley K. Girouard, B.J. Viator, Kelley D. Viator, Kristie A. Viator, Trysten S. Romero, and Cheyenne R. Viator; and great-grandchildren, Dylan T. Kelly, Paris E. Viator, Brianna N. Luquette, Sierra L. Girouard, Gavin J. Girouard, and Gage M. Romero.

Preceding Mrs. Viator in death were her husband, Preston J. Viator; parents, Judice and Edola Meche LeBlanc; brother, Mano LeBlanc; and sister, Lilly Credeur.

Serving as pallbearers are Keith J. Viator, Billy Ray Viator, Sr., Dwayne A. Viator, Jessie P. Viator, Edward J. Viator, and Casey Paul Romero. Named as honorary pallbearers are Billy Ray Viator, Jr. and Keith Dustin Viator.
