Youngsville - A Mass of Christian Burial for Rudy James Poirier, 60, will he held at 1:00PM on Monday, November 19, 2007 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Jason Mouton officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette beginning on Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 1:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will resume on Monday, November 19, 2007 from 9:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery.

Mr. Poirier at native and resident of Youngsville died at 10:55AM on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at his residence. He was a school bus driver for Lafayette Parish School Board for over 12 years; the Justice of the Peace for ward 9; a Eucharistic Minister and Usher at St. Anne Catholic Church; a Spiritual Director for the Squires of Youngsville #3967; a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus # 2199 and a Third Degree Knight of Columbus # 6057; and made Cursillo 216 and sat at St. Paul's table.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hanks Poirier of Youngsville; one son, Seth Paul Poirier of Youngsville; two daughters, Mary Joseph Poirier and Mary Elizabeth Poirier both of Youngsville; three brothers, Steven Poirier of Lafayette, Michael Poirier and Francis Poirier both of Youngsville; and five sisters, Tammy Poirier of Lafayette, Lorraine Poirier Vincent of Youngsville, Geraldine Melvin of Katy, TX, Juanita Menard of Maurice, and Janet Broussard of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Poirier, Sr., and Gladys Romero Poirier.

Pallbearers will be Francis Poirier, Gerald Vice, Stephen Poirier, Allen Menard, Seth Poirier and Don Menard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Delahoussaye, and Michael Poirier.
