Youngsville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Conrad Aaron Papa Menard, I., 74, will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, November 19, 2007 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Mouton officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette beginning on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 2:00PM and the funeral home will remain open until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 7:00PM. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum. Mr. Menard a native of Welch and a resident of Youngsville died at 11:45AM on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at a Lafayette Hospital. He worked at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension and Ascension Day School for the past 38 years and was the Plant superintendent. He loved being outdoors, camping, farming, fishing, and being with his family. He also served in the National Guard. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Verna Belle Vallot Menard of Youngsville; two sons, Wayne Menard of Breaux Bridge, and Nelson Menard of Youngsville; three daughters, Susan Menard of Lafayette, Vanessa Jagneaux of Lafayette, and Laurie Adams of Youngsville; four brothers, Earl Menard of Youngsville, Alvin Menard of Youngsville, Floyd Menard of Youngsville, and Lawrence Menard of Lafayette; a sisters, Belvadine Costello of Youngsville; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Menard, Sr. and Gladys Cormier Menard; a son, Conrad A. Menard, II; a brother, Eddie Menard, Jr.; and a sister, Anna Grace Bourque. Pallbearers will be Wayne Menard, Nelson Menard, Clyde Adams, Joel Adams, Aaron Menard, and Samuel Menard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeramiah Adams, Wayne Menard, Floyd Menard, Alvin Menard, Earl Menard, Lawrence Menard, Eddie LaBauve, Jason Carriere, Herman Crutcher, and Billy McManus. David Funeral Home of Lafayette 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
