Maria Juvantina Martinez Ortega

Loving Mother and Grandmother Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Joaquin Ortega, Sr., the former Maria Juventina Tina Martinez, Age 92, at 10:00AM Saturday November 17, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday November 16, 2007 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Saturday from 8:00AM until service time. She died Wednesday November 14, 2007 at 7:04PM in a local hospital. A native of Tampico Mexico she had been a resident of Jeanerette for 51 years. She loved praying the Rosary and knitting. She graduated from Sacred Heart of San Luis Potosi in Mexico with a degree in Botany. Survivors include one son; Joaquin Ortega, Jr. and wife Betty of New Iberia and two grandsons; Daniel and Timothy Ortega both of New Iberia. She was preceded in death by her husband; Joaquin Ortega, Sr., parents; Timoteo and Inocencia Tovar Martinez, three brothers; Federico, Salvador and Jose Angel Martinez and two sisters; Maria Esther Martinez Colorado and Maria Genoneva Maritnez Rangel.
