LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, AND SISTER

New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Thomas L. Robichaux, Sr., the former Mildred Rita Dugan, 58, will be celebrated on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Salvino Primor (Father Ruben) will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Robichaux passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 2:29 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Robichaux was a retired teacher, having taught at Sugarland Elementary School and at the Special Education Center. An active and dedicated member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Mrs. Robichaux taught catechism for many years. She stayed very busy, having been owner/operator of Mildreds Beauty Shop and, along with her husband, owner/operator of Dugans Dixieland Bakery, Town and Country Meat Market, and T&M Gardening and Landscaping Company. Mrs. Robichaux was also director of the New Iberia Farmers Market. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, other outdoor activities, going to the casino, and was a talented dancer, artist, and craftsperson. She loved her dog, Snow. Her greatest joy, however, was being with and caring for her family and friends, all of whom love her and will miss her very much.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas L. Robichaux, Sr. of New Iberia; daughters, Gwen Fruge and husband, Nick of Abbeville and Michelle G. Bowen and husband, Matthew R. Bowen, Sr. of Delcambre; sons, Roger J. Gachassin and wife, Gina of Rineyville, KY, Thomas L. Robichaux, Jr. and wife, Dawn of Erath, Shane M. Robichaux and wife, Ashley M. of New Iberia, and Camile J. Robichaux and wife, Tiffany G. of New Iberia; grandchildren, Seth, Katie, Kayla, Matt, Jr., Mitchell, Emily, Jenna, Ryan, Gunnar, Brooksie, Hunter, Caemin, Dylan, and Devin; great-grandchildren, Haven, Cathrine, and Christen; sisters, Irene Dugan of New Iberia, Dixie Comeaux and husband, Mark of New Iberia, and Tracy Sananikone and husband, Pet of Baton Rouge; brothers, Walter Lloyd Joseph Dugan and wife, Paulette of New Iberia, Johnny C. Dugan and companion, Deborah of Butte La Rose, and Timmy Dugan and wife, Serita of Butte La Rose; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Robichaux in death were her parents, Lloyd Walter Dugan and Georgette Gonzales Dugan; and a grandson, Michael.

Serving as pallbearers are Camile Robichaux, Shane Robichaux, Thomas Robichaux, Jr., Nick Fruge, Seth Migues, and Roger Gachassin. Named as honorary pallbearers are Johnny, Timmy, and Walter Dugan.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, LA is in charge of arrangements.
