Lafayette ~ A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Frank Piccione, Sr. the former Florence Marie Ayo, age 90, at David Funeral Home Chapel in Lafayette on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 10:00AM with Fr. Keith Landry officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 12, 2008 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary, led by a group of St. Annes Eucharistic Ministers, at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 8:00AM until service time.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
A native of Houma, Louisiana and a resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Piccione passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 8:45PM at her residence in Youngsville. She dedicated her life and love to God and her family. Flo volunteered many years at St. Genevieve Catholic Church and received the Bishops Medal for Devoted Service. She was involved in the St. Genevieve Rosary Group, Altar Society and Neighborhood Rosary Group, as well as the Home Demonstration Club, Housewife League, and Bowling Belles Bowling League. She is survived by Frank Piccione, Sr., her husband of 69 years; sons, Frank Piccione, Jr. of Charleston, SC and Ronald Piccione of Charleston, SC; daughters, Linda Woodward of Youngsville, LA and Deborah Blanchard of Covington, LA; 10 grandchildren, Kim Piccione, Jeff Piccione, Scott Piccione, Angie Savoy, Jennifer Loup, Wesley Blanchard, Jill Piccione, Amanda Woodward, Julie Keithley and Eric Blanchard; and also 7 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Joseph Ayo and Flora Marie Meyer Ayo; brother, Sidney J. Ayo, Jr. and sister, Marguerite A. Bonnet. Pallbearers will be Jeff Piccione, James Blanchard, Eric Blanchard, Wesley Blanchard, Peter Piccione, Jr., and Michael Piccione.
