Samuel Whatley

Lafayette - A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held for Mr. Samuel "Sam" Whatley, age, 57 at The David Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 19, 2008 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. A native of Church Point, Louisiana and a resident of Broussard, Louisiana, Mr. Whatley passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 2:25AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette. "Sam" was a retired Engineer, having worked in the oil field for many years. He is survived by his wife, Rita Pierce Whatley of Broussard and a sister-in-law Ellen Becker of Austin, Texas. "Sam" is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Thompson Whatley, Sr. and Dorothy Lyman Whatley.
