Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 11:00A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard for Mrs.Hazel Granger LaCombe age 88, who passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 7:20AM at Camelot of Broussard. Visitation will begin on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00PM and will resume on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 9:00AM until time of service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Louis Richard will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Augustine Mausoleum in Basille, La. Mrs. LaCombe was a native of Mamou, and a resident of Broussard. She was a loving wife to her husband of 52 years. She was a devoted mother who loved her children and great-grandchildren. Hazel always found something nice to say about every individual she met in life. Hazel enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting and reading. Mrs.LaCombe is survived by her three children; Wallace LaCombe and wife Sondra, of Sunset; Floyd LaCombe and wife Jackie of Lake Charles and Susan L. Verret and husband Kenneth, of Broussard; two brothers; Ernest Granger and wife Mary, of Lafayette; Lawrence Granger and wife Elwin of Mamou; one sister; Betty Manuel and husband Wedney of Luling; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-granchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elden LaCombe; one son Kenneth Paul LaCombe and her parents Relis and Dorzina Bertrand Granger. PallBearers will be James Rogers, David Verret, Thomas LaCombe, David Johnson, Wedney Manuel and Michael LaCombe. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made for "Meals on Wheels" in care of Lafayette Council on Aging 160 Industrial Parkway, Lafayette, Louisiana 70508.
