Lawrence George Girouard

Lafayette " A Funeral Service for Mr. Lawrence George Girouard, age, 84, will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 11:00AM at The David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette with Deacon Joe Trahan officiating. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 1:00PM to 8:00PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00PM and will resume on Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 8:00AM until services. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Broussard.

A native and life-long resident of Broussard, Mr. Girouard passed away on Monday, May 26, 2008 at 11:30PM at Camelot of Broussard. He was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Broussard Volunteer Fire Department, a graduate of St. Cecilia High School and a retired Sugar Cane Farmer. He is remembered for his generosity and sense of humor.

Mr. Girouard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Agnes Fuselier Girouard; son, Stephen Girouard of Broussard; daughters, Janice Girouard of Dubach, Margot Girouard of Carencro, Fay Girouard of Uganda, Africa and Diana Girouard of Broussard.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Jeanne Theaux Girouard; brothers, Lionel Girouard, Jerome Girouard and Louis Girouard; sisters, Beatrice Girouard, Marie Louise Jones, Lillian Wainwright, Grace Richard and one son, Brian Girouard.

The family would like to thank the staff of Camelot of Broussard, Southwest Medical Center, Journey Hospice, Dr. Patrick Sonnier and his staff, and caregivers, Kelly, Ella, Janice, Tara and Roslyn, for their excellent and compassionate care.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
