Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Byron James Trahan, 39, will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Richard, Fr. Peters, and Fr. Robicheaux officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 beginning at 1:00PM until 9:00PM with as recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

A native of Lafayette and a resident of Broussard, Byron died at 5:20PM on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Lafayette. His favorite character was Mickey Mouse.

He is survived by his parents, Martin P. Trahan, Jr. and Mary Gary Trahan of Broussard; his god mother, Angela Gary of Lafayette; his god father, LeRoy Gary of Coteau; four aunts, Joyce Brasher of Lafayette, Charlene Watson of Newnan, GA, Betty Gary of Coteau, and Rosa Mae Trahan of Lafayette; three uncles, Raymond Trahan of Lafayette, Francis Brasher of Lafayette, and Gary Watson of Newnan, GA; his beloved dog, Midnight; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Martin P. Trahan, Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Anna Mae Romero Broussard and her husband Antole Broussard; his Maternal grandparents, Zerbia and Lucille Menard Gary; and an uncle Woodley Bourque.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Gary, Angela Gary, Kenneth Romero, Dennis Romero, Dr. Richard Fei, and Dr. Eugene Stueben.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be LeRoy Gary, Jenny Hebert, Betty Gary, and Clifford Romero.

The readers will be Barbara Romero, and Mary Castille

The gift bearers will be LeRoy Gary and Angela Gary

Byrons family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Richard Fei, Dr. Eugene Stueben, Karen Blue, Carol Dykes, Kim Landry, and Lafayette General Medical Center and their staff over the last 38 years for the special care and attention they gave to him.
