Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Maurice Charles Rivet, 61, will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, June 9, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Gearheard officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, June 9, 2008 beginning at 10:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will be at a later date.
Mr. Rivet a native of Putnam, CT and a resident of Youngsville died at 11:13AM on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at A Lafayette Hospital. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8323; loved life; and spending time on the beach.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Ofiara of Youngsville; a son, Maurice G. Rivet of Woonsocket, RI; two daughters, Christine Berard of Woonsocket, RI, and Lucille Rivet of Cumberland, RI; a brother Dennis Rivet Glendale, RI; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in by his parents Rene Rivet and Lillian Blain.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Rivet, Tommy Thibodeaux, Tom Reno, Mike Arcemont, Chester Schexnayder, Ted Martin.
David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337) 837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
