Joyce Verret Dauterive

Loreauville"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Robert J. Dauterive, the former Joyce Verret, 89, will be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend Buddy Breaux will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Vance Vic Breaux, Jr., Dylan Breaux, Damien Breaux, Tim Ronsonet, Obrey Ronsonet, and Derek David. Serving as giftbearers are Dariane Breaux, Rory Ronsonet, and Gwen Popay LeBlanc. Scriptural readings will be delivered by Katherine Breaux and Julie Oubre.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Dauterive passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 10:45 P.M. in her Loreauville residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Dauterive was lovingly known as Mom to all who knew her. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a one-time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed flower gardening, going to the casino, horseracing, and football, especially the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Redskins. Mrs. Dauterive met each morning and evening with her friends for coffee. She loved to cook, and her greatest joy in life was being with and caring for her family.

Remaining to cherish Mrs. Dauterives memory are her daughter, Lana D. Breaux and husband, Vance, Sr. of Loreauville; granddaughter, Claudene B. Ronsonet and husband, Tim of Loreauville; grandson, Vance Vic Breaux, Jr. and wife, Katherine of New Iberia; great-grandchildren, Dylan Breaux of New Iberia, Obrey Ronsonet of Loreauville, Dariane Breaux of New Iberia, Damien Breaux of New Iberia, and Rory Ronsonet of Loreauville; and special caregivers, Rita Carbo of Loreauville, Betty St. Pierre of Coteau Holmes, Brenda Poirrier of New Iberia, and Bonnie Broussard of Coteau Holmes.

Preceding Mrs. Dauterive in death were her husband, Robert J. Dauterive; parents, Derneville and Annette Ransonet Verret; sisters, Anna Mae Giangrosso and Ethel Keller; and brothers, Curtis Verret and Allen Verret.
