A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Murphy Pepper, the former Beulah Blanchard, 88, will be celebrated on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. in Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. The Reverend Mike Arnaud will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Pepper peacefully departed from her loved ones on Tuesday, December 04, 2007 at 2:00 A.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native of Loreauville and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Pepper touched many lives through her membership at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Altar Society and the Rosary Group, as well as through her memberships in the Mt. Carmel Mothers Club and Susan Terrell P.T.A. She had worked for National Supply and the New Iberia Chamber of Commerce, and was a legal secretary for Judge Ward Tilly. A wonderful cook and baker, Mrs. Pepper was especially known for her delicious gingerbread. Loved by all who knew her, she was a favorite aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Peppers love for the Lord was expressed through her devotion to family and friends, as well as to her much-loved church and community. Mrs. Pepper leaves this world after having guided the lives of two generations, and is mourned by countless family members who loved her dearly, including her daughters, Deborah Sinitiere and husband, Albert of New Iberia and Margaret Castille and husband, Patrick of New Iberia; son, Edwin Pepper and wife, Patty of New Iberia; brother, Robert Blanchard and wife, Joy of New Iberia; and grandchildren, Jennifer and Megan Pepper of New Iberia, and Victoria and Nicholas Castille of New Iberia. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding Mrs. Pepper in death were her husband, Murphy Pepper (in 1973); parents, Edwin Paul and Louise Gonsoulin Blanchard; son, Robert Paul Pepper; brothers, Collins, Calvin, Junius, and Whitney Blanchard; and sister, Carrie Delcambre. Serving as pallbearers are Edwin Pepper, Patrick Castille, Albert Sinitiere, Wendell Pepper, Larry Angelle, and Chester Blanchard. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the doctors and staff of Dauterive Hospital and Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care. Memorial donations in Mrs. Peppers name may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, American Heart Association, or to a charity of the givers choice.
