View Video Tribute New Iberia " Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Henry Sonny H. Landry, 58, the former Elsie Louise Landry on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jude Halphen officiating. After the service a Eulogy will be read by Kathy Romero. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed by Barbara Leblanc in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. A native of New Iberia, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away at 2:10 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2007, at the Hospice of Baton Rouge In-Patient Unit Butterfly Wing. She was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High School and worked at various jobs over the following 13 years including legal secretary for the law firm of Minvielle and Guillot before moving to Baton Rouge in 1980. In Baton Rouge for the next 20 years, she worked as a very loyal and dedicated legal secretary for Attorney Ashton Stewart. As a victim of Alzheimers for the last 10 years, she always displayed great courage and a strong desire to live and be around all those she knew and loved. She will always be remembered as a very kind and loving wife and mother with a special affection for all children and animals. She will be missed by the many that loved her and forever be in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, In-Patient Unit Butterfly Wing. Elsies husband and son would also like to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Baton Rouges In-Patient Unit staff for the excellent personalized care given Elsie in her last few days in this life. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Henry Sonny H. Landry, Jr.; step-son, Stephen D. Landry; her mother, Vernet B. Landry; two sisters, Evelyn L. Hebert and husband Vernice P. Hebert and Viola L. Milliman; five brothers, Victor J. Landry and wife Jeanette, Raymond N. Landry, Elton J. Landry, Earl P. Landry and Milton J. Landry; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and a great-grand-nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, Noah Landry; paternal grandparents, Joseph Landry and Clotile Elizabeth Henry Landry; and maternal grandparents, Paul Bodin and Noelie Bayard Bodin. Pallbearers will be Sonny Landry, Stephen Landry, Evelyn Hebert, Viola Milliman, Victor Landry and Elton Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Landry, Earl Landry, Milton Landry, Vernice Hebert and Kathy Romero. David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter St. (337) 369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
