New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Minos Anthony Delcambre, Jr., 54, will be celebrated on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Mark Derise will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Broussard Cemetery, Bayou Petit Anse Community. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 from 8:00 A.M. until service time, with a rosary to be recited at 9:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home. Mr. Delcambre passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 9:40 A.M. in his rural Iberia Parish residence. A lifelong resident of the New Iberia area, Mr. Delcambre was former owner/operator of a roofing contracting company. He enjoyed fishing, rooster fighting, and paying bouree, and had spent much time trapping with his late father. Survivors include his sons, Minos A. Delcambre, III and wife, Christia of New Iberia and Jeremy Broussard and fianc, Sabrina Billiot of New Iberia; daughter, April Delcambre of Charleston, SC; companion, Vikkia Heath of New Iberia; brother, Timmy Delcambre, Sr. of New Iberia; sisters, Mary Linda Delcambre of New Iberia, Barbara Valazquez and husband, Frank of Lafayette, Brenda Bourque of New Iberia, Sandra Gaspard and husband, Warren of St. Martinville, Sally Delcambre of New Iberia, and Betty Hoxworth and husband, Scott of New Iberia; half-sister, JoAnn Forrester of Largo, FL; grandchildren, Brayden Jessie Delcambre, Brynden Jude Delcambre, Brayton Broussard, Kaleb Broussard, and Tyler Billiot, all of New Iberia; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding Mr. Delcambre in death were his parents, Minos A. Delcambre, Sr. and Janet Baye Delcambre; and a brother, Lonnie Delcambre. Friends and family members of Mr. Delcambre will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to the family to assist in defraying final expenses. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, LA is in charge of arrangements.
