LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, AND GRANDMOTHER

New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Wesley Viator, the former Vivian Hernandez, 85, will be celebrated on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Salvino Primor will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Viator passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 5:40 A.M. in a Lafayette hospital.

A native of Lafayette and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Viator was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. For over forty years Mrs. Viator worked in the produce department at Fremins Food and Furniture Store. She loved to dance, play cards, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Viator was a wonderful cook who especially enjoyed cooking and baking for friends and family.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Viator and wife, Judy of Smithville, OH and Patrick Pete Viator and wife, Sheri of New Iberia; daughters, Jeanette Viator Derouen and husband, Michael of Carencro and Roberta Robbie Viator Babaz and husband, Raymond of The Woodland, TX; grandchildren, Johnna Smith and husband, John of Oroville, OH, Scott Viator of Smithville, OH, Cory Derouen of Houston, TX, Crystal Derouen of Carencro, Kyle Derouen of Carencro, Rodney Champagne II and wife, Nicole of Duson, Ryan Babaz of The Woodlands, TX, and Alex Babaz of The Woodlands, TX; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Viator in death were her husband, Wesley Viator; parents, Eugene and Isaure Guidry Hernandez; sisters, Lydia Lagneaux, Helen Powell, Beulah Broussard Touchet, and Beatrice Guidry; and brothers, Clarence Bobby Hernandez and Louis Leleux Hernandez.

Serving as pallbearers are Patrick Viator, Scott Viator, Michael Derouen, Raymond Babaz, Kyle Derouen, Rodney Champagne II, Ryan Babaz, and Chris Champagne. Named as honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Viator, Glenn Champagne, and Alex Babaz.

The family has asked that memorial donations be made to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
