Melvin P. Bares

Erath " Funeral Services will be conducted for Melvin P. Bares, 51 on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 1:00PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Wayne Duet officiating. Interment will follow in the LeBlanc Mausoleum. Visitiation will begin Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 2:00PM until 9:00PM and will resume on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 8:00AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00PM. A native of Abbeville and a resident of Erath, Melvin died on Friday, June 27, 2008 in Maurice after a lengthly battle with Melanoma. Melvin had been a welder prior to his illness in the oilfield. Melvin was an avid deer hunter and camper who was also well loved by everyone. He is survived by his wife, Karen Dore Bares of Erath; his son Ryan Bares and his wife Laura of Erath; his daughter Keshia Bares Etheridge and her husband Chris of Erath; his parents, Paul Bares and Shelby Dean Migues Bares of Erath; three brothers, Kevin Bares of Lafayette, Farrell Bares of Maurice, and Shawn Bares of New Iberia; and his grandchild Tyler Paul Bares of Erath. Pallbearers will be Farrell Bares, Kevin Bares, Shawn Bares, Butch Floyd, Tommy Bares, and Ronald Bares. Honorary Pallbearer will be Chris Etheridge.
