New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Melissa Anne Bayard, 40, on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Neel officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 12:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 8:00 AM until services.

A native of Port Arthur, TX and a resident of New Iberia, Melissa died on Friday, July 4, 2008 in New Iberia. She was a hairstylist. Melissa had a very compassionate heart for children, a positive and creative personality, was free spirited and easy to get along with. She was always looked up too by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Cody Michael Broussard of New Iberia; her parents, Wayne P. and Patricia Tracy Bayard of New Iberia; her brothers, Buddy Bayard and his wife Natasha, Brannon Bayard and his wife Sonya all of New Iberia and Brayton Bayard and his wife Araceli of St. Martinville; her sisters, Brooksie Bayard of Monrovia, CA and Kristy Barker and her husband Terry of Lakeland, FL; her paternal grandmother, Lucy B. Bayard of New Iberia and 10 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Laurent Bayard and her maternal grandparents, Fred M. and Gladys Tracy.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Bayard, Cody Broussard, Michael Broussard, Brannon Bayard, Brayton Bayard and Terry Barker.
