Murray Trahan, Sr.

Abbeville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Murray J. Trahan, Sr., 79, will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island with Fr. Randy Moreau officiating. Visitation will be a David Funeral Home of Abbeville beginning Monday, July 14, 2008 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 8:00AM until the time of services. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery in Cow Island.

Mr. Trahan, a native of Cow Island and a resident of Abbeville passed away Friday, July 11, 2008 in Abbeville. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and visiting with friends and family.

He is survived by his five sons, Doris Gale Trahan of Abbeville, Murray Rush Trahan, Jr. of Erath, Leo Trahan of Abbeville, John Trahan of Abbeville, and Rodney Sugie Trahan of Erath; two daughters, Judy Trahan of Abbeville and Mary Quibodeaux of Sulphur, LA; a brother, Riley Trahan of Abbeville; a sister, Ollie T. Noel of Abbeville; twenty four grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Loretta Buford Trahan, and his grandson, Christopher Joseph Trahan.

Serving as pallbearers will be Murray Trahan, Jr., Rodney Trahan, John Trahan, Seth Trahan, John Quibodeaux, and Steven LaSalle. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Trahan, Doris Trahan, James Quibodeaux and Jessie Frederick.
