Daisie Shaw Barbin

A native of Maine and a long-term resident of New Iberia, Daisie Bee S. Barbin passed away at 9:15 PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at her residence. A private ceremony was held at David Funeral Home in New Iberia, followed by burial at Beau Pre Memorial Park.

Mrs. Barbin was a member of Whos Who in Real Estate, a life long Notary Public, owner of Bees Employment agency, Bees Real Estate and Shadows Century 21 Real Estate. She was a past President of the New Iberia Board of Realtors and prior to that, a legal secretary in criminal law. Her hobbies were needlepoint, embroidery, quilting and sewing. She was a member of two quilting groups in New Iberia and Lafayette.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Wayne Barbin, Sr. of New Ibeira; two sons, Kim Barbin, Jr. and wife Liz of Mandeville, and David K. Barbin and wife Julie of Covington; as well as two daughters, Carol Barbin Mire and husband Neal of New Iberia, and Donna Barbin Francis and husband Philip of New Iberia; and threesisters, Faye Judkins of Massachusetts, Betty Leach of Missouri and Pearl Redmond of New York, her lifelong best friend Arlene Beckwith andnine grandchildren, Douglas, Steven, Brandon, Benjamin and Nicholas Barbin, Amy Francis, Christopher and Daniel Mire and Andrea Mire Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Alice Shaw; and several siblings.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Mire, Christopher Mire, Steven Barbin, Douglas Barbin, Philip Harris and Cody Bourque.

Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin, Brandon and Nicholas Barbin.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, (337) 369-6336, was in charge of the arrangements.
